I believe that God has a purpose for all of us, and I’m blessed to have found mine through photography. I love capturing special moments in my clients’ lives and creating genuine, happy memories with every session.
Northern Michigan has always felt like home to me, and evenings like this one at the Black Rocks in Marquette remind me exactly why. When Allie reached out after getting engaged and texted me, ”It’s FINALLY my turn!” I couldn’t stop myself from smiling. I’ve photographed her best friend, Jaime and her family, for years at weddings, family sessions, and celebrations, and over time they’ve turned into real friends. So getting to photograph Allie and Ben during such an exciting season felt super special.

Allie has always loved Black Rocks in Marquette, Michigan. The cliffs, the sound of the waves, the way the light hits the water right before sunset… So even though we had already done a first engagement session for them at Brown Bridge in Traverse City, she really wanted to grab photos at one of her favorite places in Marquette.
We spent the evening climbing over rocks, laughing, chasing the golden light, and watching the sky soften over Lake Superior. The light was warm, the waves were loud, and the entire session felt relaxed and genuine. Just two people enjoying being together in a place they both love.
The Upper Peninsula is one of my favorite places to shoot, whether that’s a Sugarloaf Mountain elopement, Marquette weddings, and Black Rocks engagement sessions along Lake Superior. It always gives couples something beautiful and natural to work with.
If you’re dreaming of a wedding day or session up here, do it. It’s worth every mile.
