I believe that God has a purpose for all of us, and I’m blessed to have found mine through photography. I love capturing special moments in my clients’ lives and creating genuine, happy memories with every session.
As much as I love snowy sessions, it sure was wonderful to have a warm and sunny session in the middle of January!
I was traveling to Clermont, FL to visit one of my best friends and thought it would be great to get a session in while I was in the Sunshine State. After posting in a photography group that I was headed to FL, Kelsey reached out wanting a family session. Her location choice? Lake Louisa State Park, an absolutely beautiful location!
The day of the session I borrowed my friend’s car and went to scout Lake Louisa State Park. I thought I found the perfect spot! Turns out, it was the perfect spot, because there were over eight other photographers in the same area that evening during our shoot! To my luck, the area was plenty large and the session went along just fine.
I knew the session was going to be a blast the minute I met Kelsey, Phil, and their son Jonah. Kelsey and Phil were so kind, and at 2 years old, Jonah was so stinkin’ cute!
Right before the session started, Jonah got poked by a cactus. Needless to say, I felt awful! But, he was super tough and after a minute or so of pain, he was ready for the shoot! Had this not happened, I wouldn’t have learned that Jonah laughs any time someone says “boogers.”
So, you guessed it, there I was yelling, “BOOGERS!” in the middle of a field for an hour, but hey you got to do what you got to do! Jonah smiled, sometimes cracking up, and we got so many amazing shots.
Can we talk about the beautiful, dreaminess from the field and the sunshine? This is what all my golden hour dreams are made (queue Lizzie McGuire)
But what made this family session so special? The fact that it was also a baby announcement! Kelsey and Phil are expecting their second baby in August 2024. They are so excited and Jonah is pumped to be a big brother!
To be able to go on vacation, see your best friend and meet her new baby, AND have a photoshoot with a great family was so much fun and honestly made me fall in love with photography all over again!
